Blackrock Mining Solutions offer the best people to the exploration industry, and with over thirty years of combined experience in the field and in exploration geology we do not make that statement lightly. From open-cut operations to underground operations, from greenfield exploration to brownfield exploration, we do it all.

Our experience is multi-disciplinary, and we can assist your operation with cultural heritage and environmental assessments, drilling program management, earthworks coordination, drill site rehab audits, drill site supervision, geological logging of chip and core, and geotechnical logging of core. Our geologists are trained in Australian CoalLog logging standards and are fully qualified.

Exploration Program Management.

Blackrock Mining Solutions has been providing expert exploration project management in the Australian coalfields. We take pride in the quality of work we provide; we collaborate with your drilling contractors, the client and exploration geologists to achieve all the required outcomes.

Just some of the services we provide;

  • Daily reporting of all drilling and earthwork activities
  • Provide cost management and reporting
  • Earthworks coordination
  • Drilling scheduling and provide planned versus actual reporting and planning in-line with mining sequence and schedules
  • A complete borehole management program from ground proofing, staking, land clearance, drilling and drill pad rehabilitation
  • Assisting and/or running drilling related risk assessments and WRACs.

Exploration Geology & Rig Supervision.

At Blackrock Mining Solutions we look after our exploration geologists. Not only do they hold full tertiary qualifications in the Geological Sciences, they are also fully up to date in all the necessary training for working on a coal mine site.

Our geologists are knowledgeable in the industry recognised logging standards, and the major geological software packages including LogCheck, AcQuire and Task Manager.

Our geologists are trained and competent in:

  • Standard 11 Surface Training
  • Supervisor S123 and G2 Training
  • Coal board medicals
  • 4WD defensive driving
  • First aid and CPR
  • CoalLog Australian logging standards
  • GeoGAS measurements in the field (Q1 desorption standard)
  • Geotechnical logging and sampling
  • Point load testing

Our geologists can provide your mining operation with:

  • Drill activity supervision
  • Supervision of geophysical logging operations
  • Geotechnical and geological sampling and logging
  • Coal seam gas compliance sampling and measurements, onsite Q1 desorption testing to Australian standards and dispatch
  • Coal quality ply sampling to Australian standards
  • Onsite point load testing
